The stoa

Flashcards.
Schooled in your LMS.

Every feature exists for one reason: more cards stuck per minute, less friction for the teacher.

Adaptive engine

Each student gets a different queue.

We track correct/incorrect counts, streaks, and a per-card mastery score per student. Cards that haven't stuck come back sooner in the queue. Cards a student has nailed step aside so the harder ones get more reps.

  • Per-card mastery score with status (new, learning, reviewing, mastered)
  • Mastery-driven sessions — missed cards loop back until they stick
  • Multiple activity types — flip cards and multiple choice — chosen automatically

LMS integration

Works with what your school already runs.

LTI 1.3 with full dynamic registration for modern LMSes. LTI 1.1 with OAuth 1.0a for the older ones. Same launch URL, same launch event — the protocol difference is invisible to you.

  • One-click dynamic registration in Canvas, Moodle, D2L
  • Self-service consumer key/secret pairs for legacy LMSes
  • Deep linking lets instructors pick a deck inside the LMS assignment editor
  • Auto-provisions students on first launch — no roster import

Grade passback

Stop double-entering scores.

When a student finishes an attempt, the final score posts straight to your LMS gradebook. AGS for LTI 1.3, Basic Outcomes for LTI 1.1 — we pick the right protocol and sign it for you.

  • Per-section toggle — turn passback off for ungraded practice
  • Queued and retried on failure — transient LMS outages don't drop grades
  • Same line item per assignment — replaces, doesn't duplicate
